Museum Mates Mondays 9:30 – 10:30 A.M.
Museum Mates is an activity-based program designed especially for three, four, and five year olds. Families with young children can spend an hour with us every Monday exploring the maritime world through stories, songs, exhibit hunts, and crafts. Free with paid admission. Free for members.

Past to Present: Columbia River History
Come join us every Tuesday for eight weeks to learn more about maritime history. Each session offers provides different speakers who will discuss topics pertaining to the Columbia River and the Museum’s collections. Call Jackie Welborn, Volunteer Coordinator, to enroll or for more information.

Join us for a visual delight as Gary Braasch, environmental photojournalist, provides an examination of our world today from pole to pole through the lens of his camera. His passion for documenting climate science and solutions is apparent in his latest book, Earth Under Fire: How Global Warming is Changing the World

Strand: An Odyssey of Pacific Ocean Debris Bonnie Henderson
Author Bonnie Henderson will discuss and read from her 2008 book Strand: An Odyssey of Pacific Ocean Debris, from OSU Press. Strand follows the journeys of six things—ranging from an athletic shoe to a wrecked fishing boat and a young minke whale—that have washed up on one mile of Oregon beach. Henderson is a freelance writer and editor and the author of two hiking guidebooks. She lives in Eugene.

The listener will become enthralled with these early river running pioneers as Roger weaves the exciting, curious and dynamic stories about these “eddies of evolution.” A must see for enthusiastic drift boat fishermen.
